How to get close to the “Sleeping Giant” and live a real adventure immerse in the nature? By choosing to board an off-road vehicle 4X4 to feel the sensation of being in contact with the nature thanks to the unique opportunity of crossing the Vesuvius National Park.
Departure from your hotel or dedicated excursion meeting point to reach the Vesuvius National Park’s entrance. Once there, you’ll board an ecological minibus 4x4 (from 15 to 19 seats 4x4 like a big Army bus), to start going uphill to the Reserve Alto Tirone which is the beginning of the nature trail along the Old Matrone leading to the Piazzale Superiore at 1050 metres altitude. From here you’ll have the chance to walk along the path that leads to the large cone (approx. 25 min) accompanied by an Alpine guide for a visit of about 1 hr.
Afterwards you’ll return to your minivan to reach the Cantina del Vesuvio, a wine factory on the Volcano slope, to taste the local Lacryma Christi and enjoy a light lunch. A wine expert will be at your disposal for demonstration and questions.

Please note: The entrance fees to the Vesuvius are not included. Take passports to obtain free or reduced admission where possible. Don’t forget your camera, comfortable footwear, water and hats. Limited wheelchair and buggy access.
