Discover one of the most beautiful cities in Southern Italy combined with one of the better preserved Greek temples in the world: Salerno and Paestum. The hearth of the city of Salerno is the medieval quarter where there are narrow streets rich of historical buildings and religious architecture but also lots of modern shops. Enjoy your free time by having a nice walk on the seafront or visiting the ancient part of the city with its Duomo and the famous Monastery of Benedectine. To the east of Salerno is Paestum, founded by the Greeks around 60 BC. Its name comes from Poseidon (the god of the sea) to whom it was dedicated. It was during this period that the Basilica, the Temple of Poseidon and the Temple of Ceres were built. Visit of the archaeological site and return to Sorrento.
Please note: Entrance fees to Paestum, temples and museums not included. Don’t forget your camera, comfortable footwear, water, sun protection and hat. Limited wheelchair and buggy access. The order of the visits may vary.
